Explosion in Baku Office Block Sends Five to Hospital

(MENAFN) An explosion inside an office facility in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on Monday resulted in five individuals being taken to the hospital, according to official reports.

The country’s Emergency Situations Ministry announced that the detonation happened in a five-story structure located in the Narimanov district, prompting a swift reaction from emergency responders.

Officials noted that the blast did not lead to a fire, and seven individuals were successfully pulled from the location.

The ministry’s statement added: “Appropriate security measures were taken in the area. An investigation into the incident is underway by the relevant agencies.”

In a separate update, a state news outlet, quoting the press office of a regional medical facility on Telegram, stated that five people hurt in the explosion were transported for medical treatment.
